Backing up Work

October 16th, 2008

I used to have a flash drive and as I stated a few weeks ago, I lost it. But now my main source of backing up my work, the work I do on school computers, is by email. I just email myself the work and I have to say that it works.

I know it isn’t the newest and hottest system out there but I made it work for myself. If you ever find yourself not being able to save some form of data whether it is a word document or a zip file then just email it to yourself. It is secure and you now both the sender and receiver making it safe.

PC Restart

September 22nd, 2008

I actually had to restart my computer yesterday. The RAM was acting up when it came to running programs and I had no choice but to restart. I had it on for a few months and I guess it was just too much for the ram to continuously run everything.

I gave it a break for about 15 minutes while I Cleaned the case and then turned it back on. It feels MUCh better now. Feels much faster and it actually is faster, Might have to restart more often then.

Computer Needs Restarting

September 17th, 2008

I need to restart my computer soon before it acts up too much and fails on me. It has only been on for about 2 months now and I have gone much longer than this before. Much much longer.

The computer doesn’t overheat easily so I am not worried about that. I have plenty of fans, a side window, and a lot of heatsinks to make sure it doesn’t heat up. But from time to time the CPU may act up as well as the RAM if I run a program too long or run too many at the same time. Generally I have about 60+ processes running and sometimes I cut back to 50 when needed.
